Where is Grand Cayman?
Grand Cayman, one of three islands that make up the Cayman Islands, is about 500 miles south of Miami, Florida in the Caribbean Sea. The island sits south of Cuba, northwest of Jamaica, east of Mexico and Belize and north of Honduras.

Where is the best place to stay in Grand Cayman?

The south side of Seven Mile Beach is full of activity—lots of high rise hotels and restaurants. While the north side of Seven Mile Beach is quieter—think three-five story condo complexes with fewer people. On the north side you get more beach to yourself, amazing snorkeling and a much more relaxing experience. Plus all the hustle and bustle of the south side of SMB is only a couple of miles away, so visiting restaurants and bars is easy when you're in the mood. Is Grand Cayman safe?
Grand Cayman is very safe. In fact, it’s one of the safest places in the Caribbean. Of course, like anywhere it does have some crime, but overall the island is very family friendly. Many families choose to vacation in Grand Cayman year after year.
How big is Grand Cayman?
Grand Cayman packs so much into its small footprint. The island is about 22 miles long from east to west. At its widest it’s about 8 miles (from the north side of West Bay to the South Sound). The population of the island is just shy of 70,000.
Do you have to have a passport for Grand Cayman?
All persons have to have a passport to enter Grand Cayman except for Canadian citizens who can enter with a voter’s registration, birth certificate or citizenship card and a return ticket. So if you are coming from the United States or any country other than Canada make sure to pack that passport!
Which airlines fly to Grand Cayman?
American Airlines, United Airlines, Southwest and Delta have regular flights to Grand Cayman from the United States. If you live near Miami, New York, Tampa, Denver or Los Angeles you can also catch a direct flight to Grand Cayman on Cayman Airways. From Canada flights can be caught via Air Canada, WestJet, American Airlines or United Airlines.
Is Grand Cayman a country?
Grand Cayman is one of three islands that make up the Cayman Islands. The other two islands that make up the Cayman Islands include Cayman Brac and Little Cayman. The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas Territory and a part of the British West Indies. The trio of islands is not technically a country, but they are mostly self-governing with an elected Premier. The King of England is still the official “head” of the country and appoints the Governor of the Cayman Islands who serves as his representative.
What time zone is Grand Cayman in?
Grand Cayman is in the Eastern Standard Time Zone. Important to note is that The Cayman Islands do not participate in Daylight Savings Time. So half the year the time in Grand Cayman is the same as the Eastern time zone in the States, but when time “springs forward” in the US the time in the Cayman Islands stays the same and is actually the same as the Central Time Zone in the US.
